The second section, focused on refractive corneal surgery, will start with growing your laser vi- sion correction practice, followed by an update on SMILE, and prevention and management of corneal refractive complications. The section will conclude with the Steinert Refractive Lecture. "We are excited to have the Steinert Refractive Lecture given by the first person in the world to perform excimer laser photoab- lation, Marguerite McDonald, MD, who will speak on the new category of presbyopia-correcting topical medications," Drs. Donnenfeld, McCabe, and Thompson said. The third section in the afternoon will look at refractive cataract surgery: how to get start- ed, the business of it, choosing the right IOL and details on specif- ic IOL categories, treating the unhappy postop patient, how to perform IOL exchange, and more. Finally, the fourth section will focus on new technologies, such as custom topographic and wave- front ablations, accommodating IOLs, adjustable IOL technology, laser refractive indexing, what's next for trifocals and EDOF IOLs, and more. "As always, ASCRS Refractive Day will be the one stop for ev- erything you need to know about refractive cornea and cataract surgery with the perfect mix of didactic and case-based presenta- tions," the program chairs said. What's coming at ASCRS Refractive Day A SCRS Refractive Day is ready to take your cat- aract and cornea-based refractive surgery to the next level. This anticipated subspecialty day is chaired by Eric Donnenfeld, MD, Cathleen McCabe, MD, and Vance Thompson, MD, with more than 50 ophthalmologists invited as expert faculty. The program chairs of Refractive Day described it as "an exciting opportunity for clinicians to evaluate the efficacy of conventional and advanced technologies to improve both the preoperative evaluation and postoperative results of patients undergoing cornea and lens-based refractive surgery."
