The ASOA Pinnacle Award for Volunteerism recognizes ASOA members who further the society's mission of empowering ophthalmic leaders to elevate the business of ophthalmology through their volunteer efforts during the preceding calendar year. Prior to 2010, the award rec- ognized ophthalmology practices that demonstrated an exemplary effort to eliminate potential abu- sive billing practices and maintain compliance with government regulations. Nominees are chosen by the ASOA Board of Directors and are evaluated by their ASOA specializing in leadership develop- ment, employee engagement, and "soft skills" training. What do little league base- ball, taco Tuesdays, and late-night infomercials have in common? They're all part of this com- pelling program for leaders on revitalizing employee morale post-pandemic. The almost daily stress and anxiety that teams endured took involvement in the following categories: • ASOA membership (minimum of 3 years required) • Service on ASOA Committees or task forces • Speaker at ASOA Annual Meeting an exhausting toll on workers. Employees everywhere are report- ing trouble concentrating, feeling aimless, and stunningly high levels of burnout. Overcoming this damage will be the biggest leader- ship challenge of the year ahead. Advanced registration is required. Attendance is limited to current COEs. Separate registra- tion and fees apply.
