ASCRS ANNUAL MEETING DAILY NEWS
As usual, attendees will get a
variety of pearls to take back to their
practices, he said, adding that this is
one of the aspects that first drew him
to the ASCRS Annual Meeting.
T
he 2022 Glaucoma Day pro-
gram will be "very strong from
top to bottom," said Program
Chair Leon Herndon Jr., MD.
The day's sessions will include a wide
variety of presentations, highlighting
many topics in the glaucoma field, he
said. Additionally, there will be time
built in for audience interaction with
Q&A, something that past attendees
have indicated they'd like to see.
The program will include two key-
note lectures. Harry Quigley, MD, will
give one of this year's keynote lectures,
while Richard Lindstrom, MD, will
deliver the Stephen A. Obstbaum, MD,
Honored Lecture.
The first session of the day is a
collaboration between ASCRS and the
American Glaucoma Society (AGS),
which has been featured for several
years. "It gives us a chance to highlight
members of AGS and members of
ASCRS and share the expertise we have
in both organizations," Dr. Herndon
said. This session will focus more on
cataract surgery and some complicated
cataract maneuvers and techniques.
The program will conclude with
the 12th Annual Video Session: Com-
plications and a Reay of Hope, which
will be moderated by Manjool Shah,
MD, a past winner of the session.
Many of the sessions have been
on previous programs, but the informa-
tion refreshes each year with the new
and exciting topics in glaucoma, Dr.
Herndon said.
