This session was comprised of panel discussions, small group breakout tables, hands-on work sessions, and real-life examples to help attendees learn from innovative prac- tice leaders and industry experts and their teams who are often responsible for implementing ideas, bringing con- cepts to life, and serving as "guardians" of the culture. The second workshop, titled "The Intentionality of Creating an AMAZ- ING Practice Culture – A Deep Dive Workshop for Practice Leaders & Their Teams," was led by Hayley Boling, MBA, COE. Organizational culture impacts every aspect of a practice's success, from recruiting and retaining quality team members to strategic planning and goal setting; from practice pur- pose and vision casting to onboarding and team engagement; from continu- ing education and career pathing to communication and feedback; from practice productivity and team mem- ber performance to absenteeism and I n addition to a Certified Ophthalmic Executive (COE) review work- shop, the ASOA program included two workshops all day on Friday. The first, "Finance 201 and Beyond: Learning the Language for a Seat at the Table," was designed for those famil- iar with basic financial concepts and operations but who wanted a deeper knowledge to understand and apply advanced finance principles. The work- shop featured a mix of panel discus- sions, presentations, and breakouts to help attendees learn about topics such as forecasting and budgeting, develop- ing data driven KPIs, analyzing mar- gins, negotiations, and development of financial metrics. Co-chairs were Janna Mullaney, COE, OSC, and Andrew Maller, MBA, COE, with faculty including Kyle Rizos, Dixon Davis, MBA, MHSA, Brad Van Galen, MBA, CPSS, Jennifer ASOA workshops focus on finance and practice culture T he ASOA roundtables will be offered today from 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m., in Ballroom A, Level 3. These are open discussions on various practice management topics. Each table has a facilitator experi- enced in the topic, and attendees can move from topic to topic.
