You'll also be able to hear practice management pearls, ask questions of consultants during Consultants-on-Call, scan the career board, grab some refresh- ments, and more. The Lounge will be the spot to attend roundtables that go through Monday. Consultants-on-Call gives attendees a chance to ask leading consultants in the field questions about business efficiency. The COE designation recognizes those who have achieved the experience, knowledge, and skills identified by the National Board for the Certification of Ophthalmic Executives (NBCOE) as essential to practice management. This elite certification promotes excellence and professionalism in ophthalmic practice management. Applicants must demonstrate they have at least 2 years of healthcare administration experience and 1 or more years of ophthalmic practice management. Relevant experience includes the following content areas: finance and accounting, marketing, business operations, risk management and regulatory compliance, management information systems, human resources, and basic ophthalmic knowledge. The experience does not need to be completed in 3 consecu- tive years; however, the cumulative total of 3 years must have occurred within the preceding 5 calendar years. Eligibility is not limited to ASOA members, but ASOA members receive a discounted application fee. Find out more about the COE designation at www.asoa.org/coe.
