OWL's signature event, the OWL Reception at ASCRS, has been moved from its usual Monday time slot to Sunday evening. That allows more people to be able to attend before they travel home, said Angela Bedell, OWL's executive director. At the Sunday evening network- ing event and reception, to be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel, OWL leaders will share the re- sults of their first Leadership Trends Survey. The survey asked questions regarding gender differences related to earnings, job placement, and oth- er topics. Although the full results will be revealed at the meeting, one trend that Ms. Bedell shared is that men in ophthalmology appeared to get their jobs more through net- working, while women were more likely to find their jobs through online searches. During the program, a group of panelists, including Audrey Talley Rostov, MD, Northwest Eye Sur- geons, Seattle, will discuss the survey results. OWL will also announce its award winners at the program. Here is information on other OWL events slated for the meeting. All will take place at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel. Both members and nonmembers are welcome to attend OWL events, Ms. Bedell said.
