EW SHOW DAILY 24 ASCRS News Today Saturday, May 7, 2016 Leading faculty will speak on trends in cataract and refractive sur- gery, pharmacology, femtosecond la- ser surgery, surgical preop and post- op care, glaucoma trends, handling ophthalmic surgical instruments, hot topics in Medicare, coding and reimbursement, imaging, and how to identify, manage, and care for unhappy or difficult patients. This program includes basic, intermedi- ate, and advanced sessions. This year features a 3-track structure, with a clinical, surgical, and ASC track. Classes are held in concurrent session rooms, with crossover access to attend ASCRS physician sessions. Tech Talks, a program that in- cluded extensive presenter and audi- ence interactions through case-based presentations and Q&A discussions addressing important topics for oph- thalmic practices and ASC facilities, took place yesterday. "Ensuring that your eyecare team's knowledge and skills stay current with regard to research, treatments, and technologies is crucial," said Eydie Miller-Ellis, MD, Philadelphia, JCAHPO pres- ident. "The Technicians & Nurses Program is a valuable training opportunity that will help certified medical technicians continue to contribute to a practice's productivi- ty and quality of patient care." The program consists of 54 courses and offers the opportunity to earn a maximum of 18 CE credits per person. Continuing education credit for select courses has been approved by JCAHPO, OPS, AOC, and CA BRN. Additional Group B credits are available by attending physician courses/symposia/paper sessions at the ASCRS•ASOA Sympo- sium & Congress that are designated for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. Crossover between the ASOA and Technicians & Nurses program will be permitted to those registered in the joint registration category only. Those registered solely for either the ASOA or Technicians & Nurses Program will not be allowed to cross over. All registrants in either catego- ry are welcome to attend the ASCRS program. EW ASCRS and JCAHPO collaborate on 2016 Technicians & Nurses Program A SCRS and the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Oph- thalmology (JCAHPO) will hold the 15th annual 3-day Technicians & Nurses Program during this year's ASCRS•ASOA Symposium & Congress, focusing on prominent topics in ophthalmic medical education.
