The top 3 male and female

Last year's Run for Sight in San
Diego drew 400 participants, and
Mr. Bell said they're hoping for an
even larger turnout this year. In
2015, a total of $65,000 was raised
to support the work of the ASCRS
Foundation.
"TearLab and Shire have been
generous supporters of the Run for
Sight, and all the funds go to help
the foundation's humanitarian work
in Ethiopia and here at home in
the U.S.," Mr. Bell said. "In 2015,
the foundation's Robert Sinskey Eye
Institute in Addis Ababa saw more
than 19,000 patient visits, and the
foundation's U.S.-based Operation
Sight network delivered more than
400 charitable cataract surgeries to
needy patients right in their own
communities."

"The ASCRS Foundation Run
for Sight is a fun way to balance out
all that great eating in New Orleans
with some exercise—and at the same
time help a great cause," said Don
Bell, ASCRS chief operating officer.
"Runners of all ages and abilities
turn out."
Mr. Bell went on to note that
the course is flat and scenic, and
with the race taking place at an early
hour, it "allows folks to shower,
change, and get back to the meeting
without missing anything."
