The ASOA Celebration is an annual tradition at the ASCRS• ASOA Symposium & Congress. This year's event will take place at Generations Hall, located on Andrew Higgins Drive. Enjoy a night of music, dancing, light refreshments, and special 30th anniversary fun with colleagues. A cash bar, DJ, and dance band are featured. The ASOA Celebration will take place tonight from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. Bring your meeting badge for admittance. Shuttle buses will not be provided. EW Live it up New Orleans style at tonight's ASOA Celebration A n article written by eyecare con- sultant John Pinto received the Administrative Eyecare (AE) Editor's Choice Award. The annual award recognizes the best member-authored article published in ASOA's award-winning Administrative Eye- care magazine during the preceding calendar year. The goal of the award is to recognize and thank contributing authors and to en- courage new writing contributions for future Administrative Eyecare issues. The award winner is selected by the members of the Administrative Eyecare Editorial Board through a scoring system using several evaluation criteria. The award will be pre- sented at the ASOA Volunteer Reception during the annual meeting. Both practitioners and consultants who are ASOA members are eligi- ble to receive the award. Mr. Pinto's article, "Shifting Gears to a Selling Organization," ap- peared in the November/December 2015 issue of Administrative Eyecare. This is the fourth year that the AE Editor's Choice Award has been given out. Administrative Eyecare magazine focuses on issues relevant to oph- thalmic administrators. It publishes in print 6 times a year. It is mailed to members of ASOA and contains timely practice management informa- tion. EW Seasoned eyecare consultant John Pinto receives AE Editor's Choice Award John Pinto A SOA named 2 new fellows at its Opening General Session yesterday. Mary Sue Jacka, COE, FASOA, and Morgan Taylor III, COE, CPA, both became members of this elite group. Fellow is the highest and most prestigious mem- bership status bestowed on ASOA members who have achieved outstanding levels of accomplishments exhibited through their education, experience, and background in ophthalmic practice management. Other ASOA fellows include Candace Simerson, COE, CMPE; E.Q. Skip Fahel, FASOA; Julia Lewis, RN, FASOA; Kenneth Woodworth Jr., COE, COMT; Lucy Santiago, FASOA; Sandra Boles, COE, FASOA; and Steve Robinson, COE, FASOA.
