Today The Residents and Fellows Network- ing Luncheon will take place in Pe- tree Hall CD from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. The YES Challenging Cases Sympo- sium is back again this year from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in Petree Hall CD. It will be moderated by Elizabeth Yeu, MD, and will feature difficult and challenging surgical video cases, pertaining to cataract/IOL/iris and refractive surgery, to highlight basic concepts and fundamentals for the beginning surgeon. Speakers will discuss how they would handle each case, including their personal surgi- cal approach. They will also provide tips and pearls particularly relevant for young surgeons. YES poster and paper presentations will take place from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the West Hall Lobby, with moderators Naveen Rao, MD, and Zachary Zavodni, MD. This year, there will be a YES eyePAC Reception held in the YES Connect Lounge from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. YES members who contribute to eyePAC will have the opportunity to network with ASCRS leadership and learn more about eyePAC, T hroughout the ASCRS• ASOA Symposium and Congress, there will be Young Eye Surgeons (YES) programming, sessions, Young Eye Surgeons (YES) offerings The panelists shared informa- tion to help all attendees, no matter what their career stage. OWL will sponsor its network- ing event today. "Finding Your Voice With Effective Communication Strategies" will be held from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Luxe City Center Hotel. Panelists will include Wayne Caulder, Carl Zeiss Meditec, Bill Doran, Alcon, and Aziz Mottiwala, Allergan. Cynthia Matossian, MD, will moderate the session. EW A session on overcoming career obstacles drew attendees to the Luxe City Center Hotel for the signature event of OWL: Advancing Diversity in Leadership. OWL brought together panel- ists to address challenges in their career and how they overcame them during the event, "A Panel Discus- sion on Overcoming Obstacles & the Value of Self-Discovery." Panelists included Eric Donnenfeld, MD, Rockville Centre, New York, Ashley McEvoy, Johnson & Johnson, and Tracy Valorie, Bausch + Lomb. Jane Rady, Johnson & Johnson Vision, moderated the session. Career management the focus of two sessions sponsored by OWL and events specifically targeted for residents, fellows, and ophthalmolo- gists in their first 5 years of practice. In addition to the events listed here, the YES Connect Lounge will be as well as how to get involved in ASCRS advocacy efforts. Sunday YES Skills Transfer labs will focus on PCRI and toric alignment imaging, as well as phaco. The PCRI and Toric Alignment Imaging course will take place from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. and will be led by instructor Jonathan Rubenstein, MD, while the YES Residents and Fellows Phaco Lab will take place from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and will be led by instructors Sumit "Sam" Garg, MD, Leela Raju, MD, and Elizabeth Yeu, MD. From 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., Jessica Ciralsky, MD, will moderate a YES Social Media Course. Monday A joint symposium of ASOA and the ASCRS YES Clinical Committee will take place from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. and will introduce residents and surgeons early in practice to the ins and outs of practice management. Young physicians on the panel will share what they wish they knew when they entered practice, while seasoned administrators will speak on what they wish new doctors knew coming in. EW
