Dan Thurmon, author, presi- dent of Motivation Works Inc., and inductee to the National Speakers Hall of Fame, will challenge the au- dience to break their practices out of the comfortable box of complacency by eliminating self-imposed limita- tions. Mr. Thurmon sure doesn't let self-imposed limitations—or natural laws like gravity—stop him from providing a jaw-dropping and inspir- ing performance. An acrobat, unicyclist, and drummer who is now learning how to do flying trapeze, Mr. Thurmon has motivated everyone from For- tune 500 companies to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. ASOA Exec- utive Director Laureen Rowland, CAE, said Mr. Thurmon will provide an uplifting message—literally and figuratively—to attendees about achieving peak performance through his gravity-defying feats. William Koch, COE, Texas Retina Associates, Dallas, will share a few words as incoming ASOA president. In addition, the Pinna- cle Award for Volunteerism will be presented. The Opening General Session will include the formal launch of ASOAnalytics, an on- line benchmarking program that through a series of surveys will allow practices to compile data to help advise operations. ASOAnalytics provides its first two benchmarking surveys on practice demographics and provider productivity for free. Subsequent surveys will be made available through an annual sub- scription. This tool is described as an investment that provides prac- tices with important data to better ASOA offers immersive and engaging program
