"I wanted to try a couple of things that I haven't had the oppor- tunity to do since residency training —some advanced techniques that don't come up every day—ideally before having to do it with a real patient," said Michelle Loichinger, MD, Eden Prairie, Minnesota, who was attending her first wet lab at the 2017 ASCRS•ASOA Symposium & Congress. Under the watchful eye of an instructor, Dr. Loichinger practiced placement of capsular tension rings and anterior chamber intraocular lenses in pig eyes. She found the pig eyes very clear—not always the case in wet labs—and the instructions very helpful. Interested in more prizes?
