Dr. Solomon thinks that every
member of ASCRS, young and old,
should contribute to eyePAC.
Brock Bakewell, MD, Tucson,
Arizona, chair of the ASCRS Gov-
ernment Relations Committee, also
discussed eyePAC's value. "EyePAC is
important because it represents the
baseline advocacy that every mem-
ber of ASCRS should participate in,"
he said. If we don't have funding
to give to legislators who support
our ideas, then we can't support our
agenda, he said. He added that there
are other ways to support advocacy,
including developing a relationship
with your representative or senator.
As far as this year's eyePAC
venue, the GRAMMY Museum, Dr.
Bakewell said it was a "fantastic ven-

location helped to drive some of the
contributions for this year's event.
There were more than 300 at-
tendees at the eyePAC event, which
was one of the largest eyePAC events
in the last 10 years. Additionally, Dr.
Bakewell said that close to $100,000
has been raised in eyePAC funding
since the beginning of the year. EW
