EW SHOW DAILY 50 Sunday, May 7, 2017 Meeting Reporter The symposium is designed to maximize key takeaways for the in- tended audience: physicians who are interested in managing astigmatism at different stages of the surgical process and maximizing surgical outcomes with toric IOLs. This EyeWorld CME symposium will take place in West Hall B on Monday. Registration will take place at 6:00 a.m., and the program will run from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. This symposium is supported by unre- stricted grants from Abbott Medical Optics (Abbott Park, Illinois), Alcon (Fort Worth, Texas), Bausch + Lomb (Bridgewater, New Jersey), and Carl Zeiss Meditec (Jena, Germany). On- site registration is available. EW discussing the importance of best practices for obtaining accurate preoperative measurements with advanced diagnostics and other keys to preparing for success with toric IOLs. The faculty will also dive into the necessary postoperative steps to achieve positive outcomes in the management of astigmatism in cataract patients with toric IOLs. Program content will cover the needs of the astigmatic patient with presbyopia and how today's tech- nology may satisfy the needs of that patient. The faculty has developed a series of case presentations designed to show the applicability of these topics and pearls to applying the concept into practice. O n Monday morning, Terry Kim, MD, and Kendall Donaldson, MD, will lead a symposium of experts on pearls for success with toric IOLs, emphasizing the impor- tance of accurate preoperative mea- surements, intraoperative planning, postoperative management, and recently approved technology. The faculty includes Nicole Fram, MD, Sumit "Sam" Garg, MD, and John Hovanesian, MD. The program is part of a new ASCRS and EyeWorld initiative to provide educational initiatives tar- geted at specific learning objectives driven from the 2016 ASCRS Clinical Survey. This program is focused on The EyeWorld CME program will discuss keys to success with toric IOLs, focusing on preoperative diagnostics, intraoperative decisions, and postoperative protocols for success, with didactic learning and interactive case discussion Pairing Astigmatism Patients with the Optimal Technology: What Would You Do?
