"Management of Complicated Cases in Cataract and Refractive Surgery," sponsored by the Latin American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, will present interesting cases in Spanish. This symposium will take place from 3:00–5:00 p.m. in room 150AB. In "Taking Your Practice From Good to Great: Clinical Insights From 10 Years Out," attendees will hear lessons learned from surgeons who have helped their practice successfully progress without feeling overwhelmed. Favorite pearls and tips on avoiding physician burnout will be discussed. Sponsored by ASCRS and the Vanguard Ophthal- mology Society, it will be held from 3:00–4:30 p.m. in room 152AB. "Survive or Thrive in the Modern Healthcare Environment" will cover some major challenges and opportunities faced right now in ophthalmology including the politics of healthcare, consolidation, and premium cataract surgery. It will be held in room 150AB, 3:00–4:30 p.m. Those looking to join a different practice won't want to miss "Choos- ing the Best Practice for You: Tips and Tracks for Making the Right Choice." Sponsored by the Young Eye Surgeons Clinical Committee and ASOA, attendees will learn what healthy practice indicators are, ques- tions to ask at an interview, and how to find the right practice fit. This ses- sion will take place from 3:00–4:30 p.m. in room 149AB. EW Many peer-reviewed publica- tions focus on adult corneal issues, leaving surgeons thirsty for more knowledge on how to handle pediatric cases. Speakers at "Diag- nostic and Therapeutic Challenges and Solutions in Pediatric Cornea," sponsored by the Cornea Soci- ety, will present some of the most common and challenging disorders encountered in the pediatric popu- lation and provide evidence-based guidelines regarding the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders. It will be held from 1:00–2:30 p.m. in room 150AB. "Nailing the Best Refractive Out- comes: Let the Experts Update You" will cover how to achieve optimal "Challenging Video Cases for the Young Eye Surgeon" from 1:00–2:30 p.m. in room 152AB. This video- based symposium will feature a mix of routine and complex clinical and surgical case vignettes pertaining to cataract/IOL/iris and refractive surgery. "Retina Essentials for Cataract and Refractive Surgery" will cover a wide range of retinal topics includ- ing dry and wet age-related macular degeneration OCT anatomy correla- tion, and distinguishing between toxic anterior segment syndrome and endophthalmitis. Sponsored by the ASCRS Retina Clinical Commit- tee, the symposium will take place from 1:00–2:30 p.m. in room 151AB. T he ASCRS•ASOA Annual Meeting kicks off today with a variety of symposia that address hot topics and surgical challenges. All sym- posia will be held in the Convention Center, Level 1. "Clinical Conundrums in the Surgical Correction of Presbyopia" is sponsored by the ASCRS Cataract Clinical Committee and Refractive Clinical Committee. It will focus on topics such as IOL choices for the low myope, mixing and matching extended depth of focus and multi- focal IOLs, and improving on mono- vision. It will be held from 1:00–2:30 p.m. in room 146BC. The ASCRS Young Eye Surgeons Clinical Committee is sponsoring ASCRS symposia touch on a variety of hot topics All symposia will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
