EW SHOW DAILY 60 ASCRS Symposia Saturday, April 14, 2018 by Ellen Stodola EyeWorld Senior Staff Writer 8:00–9:30 a.m. The Contact Lens As- sociation of Ophthalmologists-spon- sored symposium will take place from 3:00–4:30 p.m. and is titled "Sexy Contact Lenses." This ses- sion will highlight current contact lens technologies as well as future technologies. Monday paper sessions will cover research on ocular surface disease/limbal stem cell deficiency/ MGD, DALK/KPro/limbal stem cell transplantation, and keratoconus. Courses will touch on ocular surface procedures, understanding topog- raphy and corneal aberrations, endo- thelial keratoplasty, and more. April 17 With sessions wrapping up on Tues- day, there will still be plenty of cor- nea topics to explore in both courses and paper sessions, with presenta- tions on keratoprosthesis, pterygi- um, DMEK, PTK/SMILE/keratoplasty techniques, managing complications in lamellar keratoplasty, microbial keratitis, and more. EW The meeting will feature a variety of cornea sessions over 5 days Today A symposium discussing "Diag- nostic and Therapeutic Challenges and Solutions in Pediatric Cornea" will take place from 1:00–2:30 p.m. This session will present some of the most challenging disorders in the pediatric population and will offer information on diagnosis and treatment. Attendees can choose to take part in courses on deep anteri- or lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) or Descemet's membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK). A number of paper sessions will also highlight cornea topics, including dry eye disease, keratoconus, Descemet's stripping automated endothelial ker- atoplasty (DSAEK), and crosslinking. April 15 From 8:00–9:30 a.m., a symposium sponsored by the ASCRS Cornea Clinical Committee will provide "Cornea Essentials." Sunday paper sessions will highlight topics relating to keratoconus and DMEK. Course options include those covering DMEK, recent advances in cross- linking, using tissue adhesives, and PDEK. April 16 The topic of crosslinking will be the focus of a symposium from Cornea offerings by Ellen Stodola EyeWorld Senior Staff Writer ophthalmologist and a paper session on drug delivery. April 16 Attendees may choose between an instructional course on coexisting cataract and glaucoma or a sympo- sium on the essentials in glauco- ma, both from 8:00–9:30 a.m. on Monday morning. The afternoon program will feature a paper session on MIGS, a skills transfer lab on MIGS, and an instructional course on achieving success with MIGS. April 17 A paper session will take place from 8:00–9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and will focus on surgical outcomes in MIGS and combined procedures. EW Glaucoma will be the focus of symposia, courses, and more at the meeting Today During today's programming, those interested in glaucoma may choose to attend paper sessions on MIGS, laser, and other surgery, or surgical outcomes: MIGS/supraciliary. April 15 A symposium will take place from 8:00–9:30 a.m. titled "Tolls, Detours, and HOV Lanes: Navigating the MIGS Superhighway by Personaliz- ing Outcomes for Your Glaucoma Patients."
