Attend this year's Health Information Technology (HIT) symposium to hear from practices that have lived through them and how they have responded. "The Biggest Cybersecurity Mistakes You Don't Want to Make: Horror Stories from the Medical Practice Frontlines" is sponsored by the ASCRS•ASOA HIT Committee in response to the rise in cyberat- tacks targeting medical practices, including ophthalmology practices. Cybercriminals are increasing their efforts to access as much data on individuals as they can, and many practices may not realize their IT systems are prime targets to obtain it. This symposium will bring together leading cybersecurity experts and regulators who are on the frontlines of safeguarding health information and securing infrastruc- ture networks. Speakers will discuss key lessons learned from recent cyberattacks, highlighting the latest technologies used by cybercrimi- nals to break into medical networks and steal patient data. Attendees will leave this symposium with a better understanding of cybersecuri- ty, drawing on best practices and actions to prevent vulnerabilities in their network.
