On the Main Stage on Sunday, we'll have a futurist lec- ture from Shawn DuBravac, and the Lindstrom Symposium, in which we cover all aspects of anterior segment surgery. The Main Stage on Monday will feature the Innovators Session, E dward Holland, MD, served as Program Chair for the ASCRS Annual Meeting since 2012. His time in this position ended in December 2022. He spoke to EyeWorld about his experience, his involvement with ASCRS, and what to look forward to at this year's meeting. EyeWorld: How did you get involved with ASCRS and begin as Program Chair? Dr. Holland: My first position at ASCRS was when I was asked to start the Cornea Clinical Committee. ASCRS had Cataract, Refractive, and Glaucoma Clinical Committees. It even had Retina and Pediatric Clin- ical Committees, but it didn't have cornea. We started the first Cornea Clinical Committee in 2005, and it's something that I'm very proud of. If you look at our Annual Meeting's programming, in terms of content, cataract is number one, and medical and surgical cornea is number two. It's become a major part of our educational focus, and it paralleled with what was happening in corneal transplantation. From that point, I was selected to join the Executive Committee, and I was close with Roger Steinert, MD, who preceded me as Program Chair. Roger asked me if I would, with the Board's approval, consider becoming Program Chair. It's been one of my favorite positions ever. EyeWorld: What can we expect to see at this year's meeting? Dr. Holland: This year, there will be three chairs of the general sessions, which we've rebranded as the Main Stage. The Main Stage today will cover what was traditionally the Opening General Session on Satur- day. That will take place after the Subspecialty Day programming. There will be an interview with the "There's no meeting that is as good as the ASCRS Annual Meeting at teaching anterior segment surgeons. Surgery has changed dramatically in the last 15–20 years in all aspects of anterior segment surgery, and I think ASCRS has been right at the forefront of providing the latest, greatest information and techniques."
