Professional de- velopment is key to retaining valued employees by providing a definitive career path with opportunities to grow and succeed, benefiting both the management professional and the practice. Providing resources to facilitate this leadership development is a vital need and is at the core of ASOA's mission. The LEAD Certificate Program answers this need. Developed in conjunction with BSM Consulting for those aspiring or current managers in an ophthalmic practice wishing to move into prac- tice management and/or increase their practice management skills and knowledge, this 9-month educational program is comprised of nine inter- active modules including pre-work, prerecorded instructional videos, live interactive sessions, and homework with a new management skill topic unveiled each month. Each module builds upon the previous module to deliver a comprehensive and detailed training curriculum for the mid-level manager. The program is limited to three cohorts of 20 participants each, and this year's program runs from May 2023–January 2024. This program was supported by Alcon, Allergan, CareCredit, Dry Eye Univesity, and ModMed. Participants in the program ben- efit from the following educational objectives: • Understand the broader business of ophthalmology • Learn about managerial issues and how to effectively lead teams • Gain practical ways to address the roles/responsibilities of a mid-level manager • Integrate patient advocacy as a top priority at all levels of the practice The following individuals graduated from the LEAD Certificate Program from July 2022–March 2023 and were celebrated at a reception last night: Celina Bazan, COA, COE Britney Benavides Ayisia Blair, COA Misty Butcher Shelley Casey, COT Amanda Childs Breanna Christensen Stacie Clark, CPSS Tramaine Davis, COT Darlene Dean Lisa DeLong, COE Melissa Eichler, COT, OSC Ellaine Enriquez Danielle Foster, COA Erika Fowler, COT, OSA Stephanie Granat Emily Harris Carly Helm Jessy Hernandez Emily Jansen ASOA celebrates graduates of LEAD Certificate Program T his year's Certified Oph- thalmic Executive (COE) Lunch will take place today from 12:00–1:30 p.m. in Room 25ABC.
