27 EW SHOW DAILY ASCRS•ASOA Symposium & Congress, Los Angeles 2017 T hirty-five individuals earned the Certified Ophthalmic Executive designation (COE) during the period of April 1, 2016– March 31, 2017. The COE designation recog- nizes those who have achieved the experience, knowledge, and skills identified by the National Board for the Certification of Ophthalmic Executives (NBCOE) as essential to practice management and promotes excellence and professionalism in ophthalmic practice management. Applicants must demonstrate they have at least 2 years of healthcare administration experience and 1 or more years of ophthalmic practice management. Relevant experience includes the following content areas: general ophthalmic knowledge, fi- nancial management, operations, in- formation technology management, human resources, and risk manage- ment and regulatory compliance. The experience does not need to be completed in 3 consecutive years; however, the cumulative total of 3 years must have occurred within the preceding 5 calendar years.
