ompliance is always a chal-
lenging and complex topic
for medical practices. Get
guidance you need at this
year's ASCRS/ASOA Joint
Symposium, which will focus on
the roles physicians and staff play in
compliance efforts.
The joint symposium will ad-
dress chart documentation, stat-
utes such as the False Claims Act,
Anti-Kickback statute, OSHA and
HIPAA and discussion on how physi-
cians and staff play a unique role in
the collaborative process.
The panelists will be Gerard
D'Aversa, MD, John Kung, MD,
Orval Gilmore, COE, Mary Jo Krist,
COE, and Joe Theine, MBA.
William Koch, COE, will mod-
erate the symposium.
The symposium will be held
today from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on
meeting room level, 411 theatre. EW

at its Opening General Session
yesterday. Donna McCune, COE,
Corcoran Consulting Group, Fort Mill,
South Carolina, became a member of this
elite group.
The designation of ASOA fellow
is the highest and most prestigious
membership status bestowed on ASOA
members who have achieved outstand-
ing levels of accomplishments exhibited
through their education, experience,
and background in ophthalmic practice management. Ms. McCune
joins other ASOA fellows Sandra Boles, COE, Skip Fahel, FASOA,
Mary Sue Jacka, COE, Julia Lewis, RN, Steve Robinson, COE, Lucy
